Re: Third From Visit to Workshop and Exhibition at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
I am writing to you concerning our Third Form Visits Day on Wednesday, 21st March 2018 to Shakespeare’s Globe. This is a unique opportunity for the students to gain valuable insight into the performances and the cultural context of Shakespeare and his works that will be invaluable to their study of Shakespeare at GCSE and beyond.
We will be meeting at Cockfosters Station at 9am for a prompt departure at 9:30am. We anticipate that we will be returning at 3:30pm from where they can be collected or make their way home. The children will be expected to wear full school uniform and to bring their coats. It is advised that the children bring a packed lunch or, alternatively, they may bring some pocket money to purchase their lunch.
We have planned an exciting and stimulating experience for the students at the Globe Theatre. They will be attending a one-hour Live Action workshop on Shakespeare’s Macbeth focusing on the style and language of Shakespeare in performance. We will then move on to the exhibition where the students will be attending a historical demonstration on Elizabethan fashion to expand and reinforce their understanding of the cultural context of Shakespeare and his works.
We are very much looking forward to this trip and ask that you return the permission slip below with the attached fee as soon as possible to the relevant Form Tutor.
