Re: IV Form Visits Day – Westminster Bridge and its environs – Wednesday, 21st March
Every academic year we take the valuable opportunity to enrich our pupils’ learning experience through excursions to some of London’s iconic attractions. This year, the English Department will lead the Fourth Form trip which will focus on gathering inspiration for creative writing.
The location, inspired by William Wordsworth’s poem, ‘Composed upon Westminster Bridge’, will commence at St. Paul’s Cathedral where pupils will describe the stunning architecture in prose, then move along the Bridge, on to The Southbank and complete their journey at the Tate Modern.
On the day, the children should wear their full school uniform; they will also need a packed lunch and you may wish to provide pocket money for a visit to the gallery’s gift shop. They will need to bring a writing pad and a pen. We will be leaving from Cockfosters station at 8.45am where we will take a register and expect to return by 3.30pm.
The price of the trip is £3.00. Please ensure your child returns the permission slip and money to their form tutor by Friday, 9th February 2018.
We very much look forward to this exciting visit and hope the pupils will enjoy it too. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
