Annual Boating Trip. Wednesday, 5th July, 2017.
Stanborough Park in Welwyn, Hertfordshire.
All pupils to come in Greens.
As you will have seen from the school calendar, we are fast approaching our traditional annual boating day. Rowing or Paddle Boat.
Although the children have a choice of pedal or rowing boats, special admiration is reserved for those who choose the more strenuous, but skill demanding rowing boat.
This centre has a beautiful and very interesting environment which enhances the children’s boating experience. Hopefully, we shall have a thoroughly good time boating after which they can have a picnic. Therefore, pupils and teachers should all bring a packed lunch. (Although there is a café with a reasonable variety of sandwiches etc.)
We shall be travelling by the minibuses in four waves starting at 9.15 a.m. Our return to school in the afternoon will be in time for departure in the usual way.
(Please Note: If it is raining on the morning, with reasonable signs that the bad weather will continue throughout the day, then boating will need to be cancelled. The school day will then follow the normal school timetable.)
Virtually all the teachers and I will be present, many of whom will be rowing too. This means plenty of supervision. Of course, the children will be provided with life belts.
