12th September, 2017.
A-level geographers will be undertaking fieldwork at the Field Studies Council Centre in Slapton Ley, Devon between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th October 2017. Fieldwork is an essential part of the course and the work undertaken on the trip will provide the pupils with the necessary skills to plan and undertake their independent fieldwork projects. The pupils will have the support of the field centre staff, as well as Mrs Morrissey and myself, whilst collecting data on coastal environments. All meals are provided by the centre. However, pupils need to bring a packed lunch for the coach journey, a small amount of spending money and a water bottle. Please find a full equipment list and medical form attached.
The total cost of the trip, per pupil, will be £300. As the reservation for the field centre has already been made, we would appreciate this payment no later than Tuesday 26th September, 2017. Please return the permission slip below, along with a cheque made payable to St John’s Senior School in an enclosed envelope with your child’s name on the front. This should be returned to their Geography Teacher. If you have any questions, please speak to the Geography Department on the piazza after school.
