School Visit to Westminster Palace and Abbey Wednesday 21st March 2018
I am delighted to write to you with information regarding the Upper Sixth form trip to Westminster Abbey and Palace. The theme of the trip is “political power” exploring how both the State and the Church have worked with and against each other through England’s long history. The trip will feature an interactive session on how laws are made and a tour of the Palace and Abbey.
The trip will take place on Wednesday 21st March. Students will be expected to arrive promptly at Cockfosters Underground Station by 8:15 to ensure we are not late. Students will need to buy their own underground ticket, or use their oyster card. In addition students will need to bring lunch or money to purchase one on the day. The dress code is the same as at school. For security reasons students should only bring one small bag.
Should you wish to give permission for your child to stay in central London at the end of the trip please indicate this on the permission slip below. For those returning with the teachers, we will aim to arrive at Cockfosters by 15:15. Students will be dismissed from the station immediately on arrival and be required to make their own way home.
The cost of the trip is £10.00. Please pay this by cash putting it in an envelope with the completed permission slip and return to your child’s form tutor by Friday 2nd February.
