Over the next few days St. John’s Prep and Senior School, based in Enfield, Potters Bar, will provide reviews from the school’s recent Visits Day.
Below is the review from the Lower Sixth’s visit to the Hunterian and British Museums.
School teachers Miss Hopp, Mr Hodgson and Miss Pym accompanied the school’s lower sixth students on their Visits Day.
The Hunterian Museum was full of different specimens of anatomy and pathology, which were contained in glass jars and skeletons. The students were able to observe them after an introductory talk from our guide.
The students also saw short videos of surgeons operating, whilst there was a collection of interesting paintings, which educated the students on particular human and animal aspects.
Following the lunch break, Mr Tardios Senior was generous enough to be the students guide at the British Museum.
Mr Tardios Senior gave the students and teachers an interesting insight into Egyptian, Greek and Syrian civilisations.
He focused on particular masterpieces and explained relevant information to help the group understand how the different societies lived.
The feedback from the students was excellent, who all said that they found the day very instructive and enjoyable.
