Operation Christmas Child
Well done to our Duke of Edinburgh volunteering cohort!
Thanks to the kind donations provided during non-uniform days and Krispy Kreme doughnut sales, St. John’s Senior School has fundraised for 20 shoeboxes filled with gifts to be sent to teenagers across the globe this Christmas.
A heartfelt gratitude to all who supported our autumn fundraiser. Each box contains ‘something to love’ (a teddy or plush toy), hygiene items such as toothbrushes, combs, wash cloths, school equipment (filled pencil cases) and toys and games and cards written by the St. John’s students.
Operation Christmas Child works across South America, Asia, Africa and Europe to bring festive cheer to young people in poverty, asylum and refugee camps. Next week our gift boxes will be delivered to a church in Enfield and then begin their journeys onward. Each box has a tracker in it and the students will be able to follow the trackers and are excited to learn where around the world these gifts will find their homes.
