Exciting Success at the Annual Swimming Gala!

On Saturday 22nd March, St John’s pupils took part in the Annual Swimming Gala at Furzefield Leisure Centre.

Pupils from Lower Transit to First Form all participated. Each swimmer took part in one race. Some competed in heats and made it through to the finals. Others swam in straight finals.

The atmosphere was full of energy and excitement. Parents and teachers cheered from the stands. The swimmers gave it their all and showed great determination.

There were many spectacular performances. Race winners showed excellent speed, strength, and focus. All pupils demonstrated the skills they have learned in swimming lessons this term.

It was clear to see how much progress the children have made. From confident starts to strong finishes, the improvement was impressive.

First, second, and third place winners were recognised in Monday’s assembly. Medals and certificates were awarded, and the applause was loud!

The most exciting race of the day was the final event — the House relay. All four Houses gave it their best effort. The cheering reached its peak as the final swimmers dived in.

After a very close contest, Badgers came out on top! Congratulations to the winning team for their excellent teamwork and fast swimming.

A big well done to all the children who took part. Everyone gave their best and supported one another.

Thank you to the staff, timekeepers, and supporters who made the event run so smoothly.

The gala was a great celebration of effort, improvement, and fun. We’re already looking forward to next year!
