Sixth Formers Network at the Historic Oxford and Cambridge Club

Posted: 3rd December 2025

This Monday, a cohort of our Sixth Form students stepped into the heart of London’s intellectual history for an exclusive networking event at the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Club. Established in the 19th century, the club provided a majestic backdrop for our students to bridge the gap between their current studies and their future ambitions.

Surrounded by the club’s storied library and inspiring portraits of notable alumni, the students were immersed in an environment that celebrates academic excellence and professional achievement. The event was far more than a tour; it was a dynamic forum where our students engaged in thoughtful conversations with professionals and graduates, honing their ability to communicate with confidence in a formal setting.

Throughout the evening, the group explored a variety of future academic pathways, gaining a nuanced understanding of what life is truly like at top-tier universities. The insights shared went beyond the pages of a prospectus, offering a “real-world” look at:

  • University Life: Navigating the transition from school to higher education.

  • Career Opportunities: Exploring how specific degree choices translate into professional success.

  • Networking: The importance of building connections within a global community of scholars.

The experience was transformative. By interacting with individuals who have walked the same paths they are now considering, our students gained a clearer vision of their own potential. They left Pall Mall feeling not only motivated and informed but truly excited for the academic and professional journeys that lie ahead.

We are immensely proud of the poise and curiosity our Sixth Formers displayed. This visit was a vital step in preparing them for the competitive world beyond St. John’s, proving that our students are more than ready to take their place among the next generation of leaders.
