St John’s U15 Netball team win 28-22 against Bohunt School in the SistersnSport National Plate Competition.
In an electrifying netball match this afternoon, St John’s secured the win against Bohunt School with a final score of 28-22.
The game kicked off with both teams showing great energy and focus. St John’s defence, led by Ava proved themselves resilient as they took countless interceptions, however Bohunt were able to break through and establish a small lead by the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, St John’s intensified their efforts in both attack and defence to bridge the gap. Elizabeth, Arianna and Joy showed brilliant teamwork in the mid court, facilitating smooth transitions between the thirds, and setting up scoring opportunities for Imogen and Zara. The half time score reflected the closely contested nature of the match with St John’s taking a narrow lead.
In the third quarter, there was a surge in intensity as both teams fought relentlessly for control of the game. Imogen displayed some exceptional shooting and St John’s were able to obtain an eight goal lead. Ava, Joy, Freya and Zara’s defensive skills played a crucial role in preventing Bohunt School’s attempt to catch up.
In the final quarter, St John’s continued to dominate. Bohunt fought hard to comeback, but the the entire St John’s team fought with tenacity, successfully fending off Bohunt School’s late surge and securing the 28-22 win.
Arianna’s contributions in centre court and the attacking circle earned her the opposition’s Player of the Match.
