It has been a remarkable run of school football results at St. John’s Senior School in Enfield. Between 6 and 13 October 2026, our teams played four cup matches, won all four, and scored 37 goals while conceding just four. Here is how each game unfolded.

U14 County Cup Round 2: St. John’s 10-1 UCS (6 October)

The U14s stormed into Round 3 of the County Cup with a commanding win over UCS. Leading 3-0 at half time, they fired in five goals in just ten minutes after the restart. UCS had no answer, and the seven goal rule came into play shortly into the second half, settling the tie.

Both teams agreed to play on, and St. John’s stayed ruthless in front of goal to finish 10-1. Henri hit a superb hat trick, while Albert’s standout captain’s performance kept St. John’s firmly in control.

U15 Cup: St Aloysius 1-4 St. John’s (9 October)

The U15s began their cup run with an away win at St Aloysius. The hosts started brightly and had the better of the opening quarter, but could not turn their pressure into clear chances.

St. John’s soon showed their own threat. Darius drove into the box and got across his defender, and shortly afterwards he stood over a free kick just outside the area. His dangerous delivery was turned into his own net by a St Aloysius defender trying to clear, and a hard working, battling first half ended 1-0.

The second half was more open, with chances at both ends. At 1-0, goalkeeper Sammy made a crucial save, rushing off his line to get a foot to the ball and deflect it away.

St. John’s then pulled clear. CJ beat a couple of defenders down the right and crossed for Ollie to tap in, before scoring a screamer of his own, and Daniel added a fourth. St Aloysius grabbed a consolation with the last kick of the game.

U13 County Cup: St. John’s 11-1 Wren Academy Finchley (12 October)

The U13s produced a ruthless display at home to cruise into the next round of the County Cup. St. John’s raced into an early 3-0 lead and dominated from the first whistle, with the goals continuing to flow.

Just eight minutes into the second half, the score reached 11-1, triggering the ten goal mercy rule, and both teams agreed to bring the match to an early end.

The goals came from Frankie, Kiki, Kane, Emmanuel and Massiah. Man of the Match went to RJ, who pulled the strings in central midfield, dictating the tempo, controlling possession and orchestrating attack after attack.

With another cup tie the very next day, the squad was rotated so that every player got minutes and played their part in the victory.

National Cup: Shrewsbury House 1-12 St. John’s (13 October)

Just a day later, the U13s were back in action and produced a sensational attacking performance to win 12-1 away at Shrewsbury House and reach the last 32 of the National Cup. It continues a cup run that began with a 2-0 win at Aldenham.

St. John’s came flying out of the blocks, racing into a 3-0 lead inside the first four minutes. Their intensity, movement and clinical finishing left Shrewsbury House struggling to contain the attack, and by half time the boys led 6-1.

The second half brought a tactical reshuffle, with Emilio, Mert and George introduced. The attacking rhythm never faltered, and St. John’s added six more unanswered goals to complete a remarkable 12-1 victory.

Kane delivered an outstanding six goal performance, Emmanuel was equally clinical with five of his own, and Kristian added his name to the scoresheet. Man of the Match went to Kaine.

A week to remember for St. John’s football
