U13’s vs Hassenbrook Academy

Posted: 9th January 2025

St. John’s U13’s demonstrated both skill and a strong understanding of teamwork during today’s ESFA National match, which ended with an impressive victory of 6-1 sending St. John’s into the last 16 in the country.
The team showcased both individual talent, collaborative spirit, excellent positioning and awareness on the field. They were instrumental in supporting their teammates, particularly during key moments that led to scoring opportunities.
The contributions from Darius with three goals, Sophie with two goals (earning her Player of the Match), and Kyiro’s goal highlight a well-rounded team effort.
The first half saw St. John’s team take a solid lead at 2-0, thanks to Sophie and Kyiro’s early strikes. As the game progressed into the second half, they maintained focus despite conceding one goal but quickly responded by extending their lead further with additional goals from Darius and Sophie.
Overall, St. John’s performance was not only effective but also inspiring for their peers on the field. Their positive attitude and determination are qualities that will serve them well in future matches as they continue to develop both individually and as part of a team. Keep up this fantastic work!
Congratulations also to their coaches, Mr. Hodgson and Mr. Barker.
